I’d Love to Help

My Services Include The Following…

Intake

This is the first session for every person entering therapy. This session I prefer to complete in person when possible. The purpose of the first session is for us to get to know each other and make sure it is a good therapeutic fit. There is a lot of information gathering at this session and goals are identified that you would like to work on through therapy.

60 mins | $125

Individual Therapy

Online or in-person, these are follow-up sessions after intake.  In these sessions we will discuss various techniques and interventions to help with minimizing symptoms as well as provide space to process thoughts and emotions.  Again, this varies from person to person and is tailored to your goals. Typically, meetings start at weekly or bi-weekly and become less frequent as progress is made or as is appropriate.

45-55 mins | $100

Marital/Couples Intake Session

Similar to an intake session, but tailored towards the needs of marital or couples’ therapy. In a marital or couples’ intake session my goal is to get to know you as a couple. During this session there will be roughly 30-40 minutes spent with each individual in the couple, followed by roughly 30-40 minutes to come together and discuss marital/couples’ goals for therapy. Following the intake session, follow-up appointments are the same time and costs as individual therapy above.

90-120 mins | $250

EMDR
EMDR stands for “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.  This is a specialized type of therapy aimed at healing from disturbing life experiences using the brain’s natural healing process.  If you have questions about this type of therapy and whether it would be an appropriate treatment for you, I would be happy to answer questions during a consult call or a first appointment.

50-60 mins | $100

Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t see your question answered here, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Do you take insurance?

Currently I am out of network with all insurance.  I am focused on dedicating my time to providing you with the highest level of care possible. I am able to provide you with a detailed receipt for submission to your insurance company if they provide “out-of-network” reimbursement for counseling.

I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express cards. I also accept most HSA/FSA cards, as well as cash and checks. Payment is due at time of service.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of therapy sessions varies greatly from person to person.  I strive to provide an individualized plan for each person that I work with that takes into consideration goals, motivation level, amount of existing support, financial implications of that individual.  In reality I will be able to give you a more accurate answer to this question around the conclusion of intake.

How often should I see you?

Frequency of therapy visits can vary as well.  Frequency is more often determined by the intensity of symptoms and level of disruption symptoms are causing a person’s life.  For someone who is currently experiencing a high intensity of symptoms and a greater amount of disruption, weekly to bi-weekly therapy may be more appropriate.  No matter where we start, progress often determines when a decrease in frequency of therapy visits is appropriate.

I am happy to answer any further questions around this topic at intake.

Therapy can be expensive. Why should I choose Ripple Counseling?

While I understand that paying out of pocket for therapy is a significant financial decision, there are certain benefits of seeking therapy at a private practice.  The first and most important benefit is that I am in control of my client load.  That means when I reach a capacity where I need to start a wait-list because I currently cannot provide quality care to any more clients, I can do that.  The mental health segment of the healthcare system is overwhelmed with need for services.  My first priority is providing clients with the best, most ethical care possible.  I am not driven by the quantity of people I can help, but the quality of help I can provide to those that I see.  I am able to provide a personalized approach, get to know you, and empower you because I will have the time and energy to do so.  This holds a value.  I have not ruled out taking insurance in the future, but for now, this is the most feasible way for me to make an impact.  I understand I will not be the best fit for everyone.  My largest priority is what is best for you, the client.

Much of the intake process seems to be done online. How do I know my information is private?

I utilize a practice management software known as Simple Practice.  Simple Practice provides all of the necessary services such as scheduling, paperless intakes, charting, billing, appointment reminders, and most importantly a client portal.  All of these services are encrypted, highly secure, and HIPAA compliant.  Simple Practice is highly secure, streamlined, and convenient to use for clients.

Do you provide therapy by telehealth as well?

As long as you are in the state of Indiana, I am able to provide therapy via telehealth.  Simple Practice allows for us to have a completely secure connection through its portal to complete therapy sessions virtually.

How does billing work?

At the time of filling out your intake paperwork, you will receive a secure form which you can add whatever credit card, HSA card, Debit card, etc. you plan to pay with to that form. When that form is submitted, I do not personally receive the credit card information. Rather, it is stored securely with a high level encryption by Simple Practice’s integrated billing software, “Stripe.” This is bank level security. Think of “Stripe” as the substitute for the credit card terminal you swipe at any merchant. Your card will only be billed by me at the time of service with your authorization and charges are run through the “Stripe” billing software. You are able to add multiple cards into the software if needed. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, FSA, and HSA are all accepted forms of payment. This allows for fast, easy billing at the end of your sessions, providing us more time to focus on therapy. Paying by cash or check is always an option as well. If you have any further questions about billing, I would be happy to answer them.
